Here is a point about bumper-to-bumper driving and parallel parking that you won’t learn in school …

If you are so close to the car in front of you that you can’t see where its wheels touch the ground, then you must backup before you can drive around it.

Think about it.  The next time you pull up to the curb behind another car, give it a try.  Experiment.  This certainly works when you are behind another car, but it may not work if you’re behind one of the flatbed trucks used by Henry’s Towing.
